Several weeks ago we decided that communication through KnowledgeBid needed to be simplified. Our scheduler and conference call platform worked great when we could get two people on the phone at the same time, but too often calls needed to be rescheduled or one party would forget to dial in. We took a page out of the YouTube playbook on this one. Now listing owners will see a “Promotional URL” within each of their listings. These URL are shorter than the standard URL we give each listing, which are long and optimized for search engines. Read more »

Starting today, buyers and information providers that have calls scheduled through KnowledgeBid will receive alerts via phone roughly 15 minutes before their scheduled call time, along with the standard 12 hour and 15 minute email alerts. Integrity Research Associates will soon publish a forecast for the expert network industry in they will call for continued growth coupled with greater compliance requirements, competition, and a trend towards expert network internalization on the buy-side. We at KnowledgeBid wholeheartedly agree with this forecast. The session was moderated by Keith Ackerman, who is Global Head of Next Generation Research at Thomson Financial. The folks at Integrity Research Associates recently published an interesting forecast for the investment research industry. Integrity provides syndicated research and consulting services to the investment community. In short, the Integrity is forecasting a continued decline in “traditional” investment research consumption from investment banks and research analysts, coupled with a continued increase in demand for alternative research services. Integrity cites Regulation FD, soft dollar codification, and continuing technological innovation as the major drivers in the revolution.
